01 / Overview

Keeping related content together.

Minecraft projects bring together world data, content packages, release files and their documentation. Block Butler is built around keeping these related parts organised as projects and versions change.

My role spans the product experience and its implementation: information architecture, UX and UI design, followed by coding the interface and the application logic behind it.

World backups

World backups organised by project, kept separate from reusable content packages and release archives.

Package library

Datapacks and resource packs held as separate components, with version and package metadata.

Release history

Versioned releases bring together original packages, documentation and related project resources.

02 / Design

UX & UI design

I designed the information architecture and interface around the relationship between worlds, packages and releases. The aim was to make a specialist file workflow easier to navigate, with a clear hierarchy for the content and its versions.

The work covered screen structure, visual hierarchy and interaction design, followed by implementation. The interface and the underlying organisation were developed as parts of the same tool.

03 / Build

Development & coding

I coded the application interface and the logic that connects it to structured project files and metadata. The focus is on the practical handling of content, versions and backups.

Interface implementation

Turning the UX and UI into application screens, controls and interactions.

Content organisation

Handling world backups, datapack and resource-pack components, and the structure of the package library.

Project metadata

Keeping package details, release versions, related documentation and import history together.
